2022 NASCAR Xfinity Series® regular season champion AJ Allmendinger captured his first Talladega Superspeedway victory in a photo finish of the Sparks 300.
The Kaulig Racing driver was in second place on the final lap when he rocketed from the bottom lane to the top side through the tri-oval of NASCAR®’s largest track. With the checkers waving on the NASCAR Xfinity Series® Playoff event, Allmendinger pulled to the outside of the then-leader and crossed the line 0.015-seconds ahead of the runner-up for his fourth victory of the season.
