Team Penske driver Austin Cindric kicked off the 2022 NASCAR Cup Series® season in grand fashion with a breathtaking victory in the prestigious DAYTONA 500®.
From behind the wheel of the No. 2 Discount Tire Ford Mustang, Cindric blocked the advance of a Team Penske teammate on the last lap, then narrowly edged out the runner-up at the start-finish line. It was Cindric’s first victory in just his eighth career NASCAR Cup Series® start.
