A thrilling overtime restart and some intense beating and banging on the final lap led to Ross Chastain becoming a first-time NASCAR Cup Series® winner at Circuit of the Americas.
Chastain earned the victory after a hard-fought battle amongst the top three combatants on the race’s final lap. Contact was made between the three at various points of the trip around the Texas road course, but Chastain bested them all in the final corners. By taking the checkered flag first with his No. 1 iFLY / ONX Homes Chevrolet Camaro, Chastain also earned the Trackhouse Racing team its first NASCAR® victory.
