William Byron’s path to Victory Lane was not an easy one at Atlanta Motor Speedway, but it was one he conquered masterfully to earn his fourth NASCAR Cup Series® victory of the 2023 season. The Hendrick Motorsports driver had to overcome a pit road penalty and the loss of a lap due to an early-race spin to get into position to challenge for the win. With storms approaching the Atlanta track, Byron and his crew took advantage of a pit strategy that allowed the No. 24 Axalta Chevrolet Camaro to take the lead on lap 167. Byron remained out front when the rain began to fall and the race was called official on lap 185 of the scheduled 260 laps.
